Louis T. Garcia, 89, of New Castle, passed away the evening of October 2, 2018 at Quality Life Services of New Castle.

Born on February 13, 1929 in Cuero, Texas, he was the son of the late Prajedis and Lupe Tejeda Garcia.

On July 4, 1966 he married his beloved wife, the former Betty Jane Smiley, who preceded him in death on July 3, 2007.

Louis had worked as a produce manager for A&P Grocery Store.

He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.

He was a member of St. Marks Luthern Church in Boardman, OH.

Louis is survived by two daughters, Susan J. Caldwell and Kelly Reeseman, and one son, Timothy and his wife Linda Garcia, all of New Castle, a brother, Salvatore Garcia of Houston, TX and one grandchild.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted, Fred, and Madeo Garcia, two sisters, Dora Garcia and Tillie O’Pry and a son-in-law, Russell C. Caldwell.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 11th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo
Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.

A Memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Jody Dorsett.
