Marian Vitto, 96, formerly of Old Butler Road passed away the evening of September 21, 2018 in the Haven Convalescent Home.

She was born November 29, 1921 in New Castle, PA and was the daughter of the late Zaccarino and Maria Malizia Vitto.

Marian was a registered nurse at St. Francis Hospital, New Castle, retiring as Director of Nursing. She received her Bachelor of Nursing Degree from Youngstown State University and later went on to graduate from Slippery Rock University earning a Master of Education degree.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will greatly miss her including her niece Marilyn Pugliese of New Castle who resided with Marian most of her life and her niece Charmaine Rapko who Marian lived with for several years during her later years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers Angelo Vitto, Anthony Vitto, Frank Vitto and Jerry Vitto; three sisters, Phyllis Rita Pugliese, Mary Vitto and Virginia Vitto and four brothers who passed as infants and children.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 12:30 PM at St. Joseph the Worker Church. A procession will leave the funeral home at 12:00 Noon for the church. Entombment will be in Parkside Cemetery Mausoleum.
