Martha B. DeProspero, 86, of Mahoningtown, passed away the morning of September 18, 2018 at her residence.

Born in New Castle, PA on February 10, 1932, Martha was the daughter of the late Frank and Maria Iannotta Iovanella.

She is survived by her loving husband of over sixty four years, Bennie V. DeProspero, whom she married on May 1, 1954.

Martha, along with her husband, were the former owners of Bennie’s Dairy.

She was a devoted and active member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister of the church, a lector, and was on the bereavement committee. Martha was also past president of the Holy Rosary Society and was involved with and helping at the Parish fish fry. She was a member of the Padre Pio Group of Baden, PA and the Library Stitchers of New Castle. Martha was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all her knew her.

In addition to her husband Martha is survived by her three children, Roberta Johnston and her husband Roy of Chambersburg, PA, Bennie DeProspero, Jr. and his wife Martina of Midlothian, VA; Mary Adams and her husband Rick of Houston, PA; her four grandchildren, Angela Romano and her husband Steve, Elizabeth Adams, Nicolas DeProspero and his wife Nicole and Dominic DeProspero; her cousin who she was raised with, Edith Boazzo of New Castle and her two great grandchildren, Tristyn and Elijah Romano.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her four brothers, Fred, Patsy, Louis and Michael Iovanella.

Visitation is Thursday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Friday at 9:30AM for St. Vincent de Paul Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM officiated by Rev. Father Frank Almade.

Burial will take place in the veteran's section in Parkside Cemetery.
