Dolores M. “Dee” Iozzi, 90, of Huron Avenue, passed away the evening of August 17, 2018 at Avalon Place. Born on August 10, 1928 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Antoinette Cortello Francis. On August 26, 1950, she married her beloved husband, Dandy Iozzi, and the two of them spent over 65 years together until he preceded her in death on September 19, 2015.

After more than 20 years of working, Dee retired as an administrative assistant for Lawrence County Vo-Tech. A devoted member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, she belonged to the Mary Martha Guild. Dee also volunteered at the former St. Francis Hospital. She enjoyed playing bingo and card games and was known for organizing bus trips to local casinos and Atlantic City.

Dee is survived by her children, David Iozzi of New Castle, Richard Iozzi and wife Christine of San Antonio, TX, and Lisa Flores and husband Artemio of Columbus, OH; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and Vinicio Francis.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Joseph the Worker Church, officiated by Father Frank Almade, pastor.

Entombment will take place in Parkside Mausoleum.
