Frank Galizia, 96, of Union Township, passed away the evening of August 9, 2018 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born on November 10, 1921 in Hillsville, PA, he was the son of the late Antonio and Della Basti Galizia. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 61 years, the former Mabel Winner, whom he married on September 29, 1956.

After more than 30 years of working, Frank retired as a steelworker for Youngstown Sheet and Tube in 1980. He also served his country as a member of the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II. He was a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish. Frank was an avid baseball and Chuck Tanner fan who loved watching the Pirates.

In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his children, Toni Ann Badger and husband Donald of New Castle, Frank Galizia and wife Stephanie of Sayre, PA, Stephen Galizia and wife Molly, and Mark Galizia and wife Rebecca, all of New Castle; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Conti and Clara Perrot, and brothers, Louis, John, Charles, and Anthony Galizia.

Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Blessing services will be conducted Tuesday at 12:00pm at the funeral home, officiated by Deacon John Carran. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites Tuesday at the funeral home.

Entombment will take place in Parkside Mausoleum.
