Arthur G.  Woods Jr.
Arthur G. Woods Jr., 72, of New Castle, passed away the morning of July 24, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital. Born on May 9, 1946 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Arthur G. Sr. and Mary Melnick Woods. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 51 years, the former Barbara Sater, whom he married on July 1, 1967.

Arthur retired as a diesel mechanic for Jefferson Poultry. He also served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Clifton Flats Missionary Alliance Church. Arthur enjoyed watching hockey, restoring old cars, and visiting flea markets, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his granddaughter.

In addition to his wife, Arthur is survived by his children, Karen Woods and Sharyn Webb Spellick and husband Chris, all of New Castle; brothers, James Woods of San Antonio, TX, William Woods of Colonial Heights, VA, Norman Woods of New Middletown, OH, John Woods of Bessemer, PA, David Woods of New Wilmington, PA, and Michael Woods of Pulaski, PA; sisters, Norene Stelter of Wampum, PA, Gloria Woods, and Renee Stewart, both of Bessemer, PA; and granddaughter, Makenzie Webb. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Jackson.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites Thursday at 7:45pm at the funeral home. Services will be conducted Friday at 11:00am at the funeral home, officiated by Reverend Jarod Mills, Pastor of Clifton Flats Missionary Alliance Church.

Interment will take place in Castleview Memorial Gardens.
