Sara E. Augustine, 87, of Shenango Township, passed away the morning of July 23, 2018 at her residence. Born on September 20, 1930 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Mike and Sara Krause Linz. In 1955, she married her beloved husband, Frank Ralph Augustine, and the two of them spent 12 years together until he preceded her in death on January 29, 1967.

Sara was one of the founders of Augustine Pizza across from Cascade Park in 1957 along with her husband Frank and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Helen Augustine. A devout member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday School for more than 30 years. Sara was a member of Eintracht Singing Society Ladies Auxiliary. She was a devoted gardener and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penn State fan. Sara was known for her Sunday meals and holiday picnics. She enjoyed feeding the birds, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Sara is survived by her son, Frank R. Augustine and wife Kim of New Castle; brother, Mike H. Linz and wife Janet of New Castle; grandchildren, Ashley and Bryan Rhodes and Frank J. and Megan Augustine; and great-grandchildren, Luke and Alivia Rhodes and Joey Augustine. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph M. Augustine, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Helen Augustine, and infant son, Michael Augustine.
