David L. DeSalvo
David L. DeSalvo, 75, of Union Township, passed away the morning of July 9, 2018 at his residence with his loving family at his side. Born on June 18, 1943 in New Castle, he was the son of the late David E. and Lena C. Padula DeSalvo. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 54 years, the former Lorraine (Lori) Freed, whom he married on August 10, 1963. He always commented to his wife that he was going to stay alive until 55 years of marriage, and he almost made it.

A 1961 graduate of Laurel High School, David was known as a hard worker and worked all of his life. He had worked for Conn Construction, and he belonged to the IUOE Local 66 for 28 years as a heavy equipment operator. David was currently working in bridge construction for Northstar Corporation of Coitsville, OH. A very mechanically inclined man, he enjoyed doing mechanical work on diesel equipment and trucks; he also was known for participating in tractor pulls with his Farmall tractor.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by his children, Jodi Marino and husband Daniel of New Wilmington, PA and Jeffrey DeSalvo and wife Tina of New Castle; sister- and brother-in-law, Sharon and David Nowicki of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Molly, Sophie, Emily, and James; and nephew, David Green.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. Services will be conducted Friday at 10:00am at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Charles Jewell.

Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery.
