Obituary for Maria Kraus

Maria  Kraus
Maria Kraus, 81, of Neshannock Township passed away June 29, 2018 at UPMC Magee Hospital.

Born on August 15, 1936 in the former Yugoslavia, now known as Croatia, Maria was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Schaffhauser Kralj. Surviving at home is her loving husband of sixty years, Joseph Kraus whom she married on June 21, 1958.

Maria was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Eintracht Singing Society Branch 27. She was a doting wife and mother who enjoyed cooking and cleaning for her family. Maria cherished her grandchildren and loved bragging about them and spending time with them. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her husband, Maria is survived by her children, Rosemarie Montini and her husband Pete, Hans Kraus and his wife Monica, Helmut Kraus and wife Susan, all of New Castle; her brother, Anton Reich of Austria, her sister, Brigittie Reich of Austria; her grandchildren, Carina Jenkins and husband Mike, Eric Kraus and wife Becca, Andrew Kraus and wife Erinn, Zachary Kraus, Nathan Kraus, Peter Montini, Nicholas Montini, her great grandchild, Nixon and several nieces and nephews in Germany and Austria.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Hans Reich and an infant brother, Stefan.

Visitation is Monday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00AM at the funeral home conducted by Rev. David A. Snyder of St. John Lutheran Church. Burial will take place in Oak Park Cemetery.
