Katherine  Nocera (Ciallella)
Katherine (Ciallella) Nocera, 91, of New Castle, passed away the morning of June 23, 2018 at Haven Convalescent Home. Born on November 1, 1926 in Corona, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Trotta Ciallella. On July 23, 1942, she married her beloved husband, Angelo Nocera Sr., and the two of them spent over 72 years together until he preceded her in death on July 11, 2015.

Katherine belonged to the Ladies of the Dukes. A devoted member of St, Joseph the Worker Church, she served as a past president for the Mary Martha Guild and was a member of the Bereavement Committee. She also was a secretary for the Civilian Conservation Corps Chapter 125 and was on the Advisory Board for First Choice Credit Union. Katherine volunteered for Community Education with Jameson Hospital for 21 years and for the Lawrence County VA. She taught ballroom dancing to sixth grade students for 12 years.

Katherine is survived by her children, Antonette Casey and husband Pete of Buffalo, NY and Angelo Nocera Jr. and wife Kathleen of Grove City, OH; brothers, Anthony Ciallella of New Castle, Joseph Ciallella Jr. of Hermitage, PA, Patrick Ciallella of Florida, and Dominick Ciallella of Meadville, PA; sisters, Susanne Pape and Nancy Pellitier, both of Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Caravella, and brother, Dominick Ciallella.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Joseph the Worker Church, officiated by Father Frank Almade.

Interment will take place in St. Vitus Cemetery.
