Joseph L.  Brooks
Joseph L. Brooks, 81, of The Villages, FL, passed away the afternoon of June 11, 2018 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born on August 3, 1936 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Merle M. and Sylvia Gerber Brooks. Surviving is his beloved wife of 58 years, the former Connie DeCarbo, who he married on September 26, 1959.

A graduate of New Castle High School in 1954, Joseph served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy. He was a former business owner and worked in the local construction field throughout his life, owning Joe Brooks Floor & Wall Contracting and Colony Builders in New Castle. Joseph served as a past president and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #455 for 59 years. He enjoyed playing golf, cards, and bocci and also liked to watch old westerns and eat ice cream.

In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his sons, Timothy L. Brooks and wife Merly of New Castle and Jeffrey J. Brooks and wife Jill of Munhall, PA, brothers, Merle G. Brooks and Donald Brooks, both of New Castle, and grandchildren, Michael and Gillian Brooks, both of Munhall, PA.

Family will receive friends from Friday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. Blessing services will be conducted Friday at 7:00pm at the funeral home, officiated by Father Zachary Galiyas.

Entombment will take place in Parkside Mausoleum.
