James R.  Compeli Jr.
James R. Compeli Jr., 71, of New Castle, passed away the evening of June 11, 2018 at his residence. Jim was born on August 19, 1946 in New Castle to the late James Sr. and Jennie Padula Compeli. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 54 years, the former Angela “Angel” Fontana, whom he married on February 9, 1964.

Jim graduated from New Castle High School in 1964. He retired as a transportation driver for Servedio Electric. Jim was a member of St. Vitus Church. He loved to talk about, watch, and play the game of golf. He liked to go to the casino, loved to watch football, and his family was the center of his universe. He will be missed daily, thought about often, and loved always.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his children, Kimberly Dalton and husband Paul, Kelly Cavelli and husband Fred, all of New Castle, and James Compeli III and wife Rachel of Solon, OH; brother, Michael Compeli and wife Leona of Chicago, IL; sisters, Mary Ann Innocenzi and husband Frank of Edinburg, PA and Patrice Fiore and husband John of Virginia; and grandchildren, Leanne Cangey, James Compeli IV, Kaylee Compeli, and Mackenzie Cavelli.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Friday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Vitus Church, conducted by Father Vincent Kolo.
