James  Goodman Jr.
James Goodman Jr., 86, of New Castle, passed away the morning of May 6, 2018 at UPMC Passavant Hospital. Born on April 17, 1932 in Youngstown, OH, he was the son of the late James Goodman Sr. and Susie Jones Booker. He also was preceded in death by his wife, the former Louise Jasper, who passed away June 1, 1995.

James had worked for Republic Steel and then a bus driver for the New Castle Transit Authority. He also served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War Era. A devoted member of Ebenezer Church of God in Christ, James loved his church and served as the Chairman of the Deacon Board. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and bowling.

James is survived by his daughter, Jaquaya Goodman of New Castle, and a host of family and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, James Goodman; brothers, Frank Booker, Joseph Booker, and Sylvester Booker; and sisters, Ernestine Booker and Florence Perkins.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Ebenezer Church of God in Christ, 1119 S Jefferson St. Homegoing service will be conducted Thursday at 12:00pm at the church, conducted by Elder Eric Brooks.

Interment will take place in Castleview Memorial Gardens. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites at the cemetery
