Obituary for Barbara A. Baker

Barbara A.  Baker
Barbara A. Baker, 78, of Union Township, passed away the morning of April 8, 2018 at Haven Convalescent Home. Born on August 15, 1939 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Guerino and Rose Pavia Buonpane. Surviving is her beloved husband of 57 years, Frank E. Baker Sr., whom she married on September 10, 1960.

Barbara retired as an office clerk for Sears. She was a member of St. Camillus Church. Barbara enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards and working on the computer. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her children, Frank E. Baker Jr. and wife Lori, Rosanne M. Berry and husband Randy, all of New Castle, and Steven P. Baker and wife Jonica of Harrisburg, NC; brother, John Buonpane of New Castle; sister, Phyllis Warren and husband John of New Castle; and grandchildren, Michael Baker, Nikolas Berry, Elizabeth Baker, Steven Baker Jr., and Gabriella Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kelly Baker-Piatek.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A procession will leave the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Camillus Church, officiated by Father Michael Peck.

Entombment will take place in Parkside Mausoleum.
