Obituary for Maxine Pardick (Gifford)

Maxine  Pardick (Gifford)
Maxine (Gifford) Pardick, 87, of Union Township, passed away the evening of February 4, 2018. Born on September 2, 1930 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Howard Earl and Bertha Dowdy Gifford.

Maxine had worked as a school bus driver for Union Area School District, and she later retired as the first female bus driver for New Castle Transit Authority. After retirement, she worked for Infocision. Maxine was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. Maxine cherished the time she spent with her family and dogs.

Maxine is survived by her children, William Pardick and wife Jodi, Carole Iwanejko and husband Rick, all of New Castle, and Karen Minteer and husband Fred of Edinburg, PA; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Gifford, sister, Billie Darlene Brown, and former husband, Otto (Bud) Pardick.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00am at the funeral home, officiated by Reverend Dennis Bupp.

Interment will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
