Eleanor R.  VanNatten
Eleanor R. VanNatten, 85, of Neshannock Township, passed away the evening of January 16, 2018 at Clen-Moore Place. Born on September 12, 1932 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas A and Bernadine Bartberger Ferry. On February 16, 1952, she married her beloved husband, Robert C. VanNatten, and the two of them spent 58 years together until he preceded her in death on February 14, 2010.

In her earlier years, Eleanor worked as a sales clerk for local stores, and she then worked in the shipping department for Johnson Bronze. Eleanor later worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s company, Kay Plumbing Company. She was a member of St. Camillus Church and had belonged to the Ladies Guild. An avid golfer, Eleanor played in many leagues and won several tournaments. She also enjoyed playing bridge and teaching people how to play, and she loved doing artwork.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Robert E. VanNatten and wife Karen S. and Rhonda Dolin, all of New Castle; sister, Jane List and husband Russell of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Nicholas (Kayla) VanNatten, Joshua (Dorann) VanNatten, Ryan (Kait) VanNatten, Jon VanNatten, Joe Dolin and fiancée Nicole, and Andy Dolin; and two great-grandchildren and another one on the way in August. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Zurasky, brother-in-law, John Zurasky, and nephew, Mark Phipps.

Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A procession will leave the funeral home Saturday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Camillus Church, co-officiated by Father Michael Peck and Father Thomas Lewandowski.

Interment will take place in Castleview Memorial Gardens.
