Obituary for Faye R. Vanasco
Faye R. Vanasco, 85, of New Castle, passed away the evening of December 17, 2017 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born on February 12, 1932 in Emlenton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Evans and Ruth Shaner Hunsburger. Surviving at home is her beloved husband of 67 years, Joseph Vanasco, whom she married on November 13, 1950.
Known as a hard worker, Faye had worked in insurance sales for Liberty Mutual and Navarra Insurance, and she retired as a secretary for Dan Jacobs Heating and Cooling. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. Faye cherished the time she spent with her family and enjoyed making the holidays special.
In addition to her husband, Faye is survived by her children, Beverly Vanasco, David Vanasco and wife Carol, all of New Castle, and Sandy Lopuh and husband Phil of Mercer, PA; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Hunsburger.
There are no calling hours scheduled. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd, officiated by Reverend Richard Nero.
Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery.
