Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mildred Armstrong can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Mildred L. Armstrong

Mildred L.  Armstrong
On December 9, 2017, Mildred L. Armstrong of New Castle, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 71. She was surrounded by her family and friends.

Mildred was born in Maylene, AL on June 17, 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Otha Lee Armstrong, her granddaughter, Renee Lallement, and her brother, Albert Hudson.

She is survived by five sisters: Linda Starkey, Ruby Miles, Catherine Rice, Margaret Brown and husband Alphonso, and Mary Loder and husband Christopher of Buffalo, NY. She also has 3 brothers, Charlie Hudson, Fletcher Hudson and wife Marcia, and Willie Hudson of Alabama.

Mildred was the proud mother of five children, Darrelle Rice and wife Cheryl, Tony Rice and wife Stacy, Lettice Johnson and husband Lewis, Bronzelle Sanders, and Telly Armstrong and wife Tisha. Mildred has 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, four step-children, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00am to 12:00pm at St. Paul Baptist Church, 616 W North St. Services will be conducted Friday at 12:00pm at the church, officiated by Reverend Robert Mills.

Interment will take place in Castleview Memorial Gardens.
