Herbert R.  Jinks
Herbert R. Jinks, 81, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of September 16, 2017 at Edison Manor. Born on August 14, 1936 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Albert E. and Leona Emery Jinks. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, the former Dorene Richey, whom he married on June 29, 1956.

Herbert retired as a shop foreman for Ellwood City Forge. He also served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Herbert was a longtime member of Harmony Baptist Church. A true outdoorsman at heart, he belonged to the Castlewood Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Herbert is survived by his children, Timothy Jinks and wife Lonnie, Todd Jinks, and Tricia Woods and husband David, all of New Castle; grandchild, Noah Woods; step-grandchildren, Gary and Tricia Shay; great-grandchildren, Madison Woloszyn, Isaiah Shay, and Gary Shay IV; and three sisters.

Private services were held at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St, officiated by Pastor Jeff MacKay.

Interment will take place in Harmony Baptist Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be offered in Herbert’s honor to Harmony Baptist Church, 4103 Ellwood Rd, New Castle PA 16101.
