Nicholas R.  Nero
Nicholas R. Nero, 23, of New Castle, passed away the morning of August 18, 2017 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. He was born on August 21, 1993 in New Castle. He is survived by his parents, Charles (Chip) Nero and Bobbi Jo Porterfield, both of New Castle.

A 2011 graduate of New Castle High School, Nicholas served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed cooking and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Nicholas loved playing baseball and spending time with his cousin Quentin and brother Michael.

In addition to his parents, Nicholas is survived by his brother, Aaron Nero of New Castle; half brother, Michael Gilmore of New Castle; loving girlfriend, Alyssa Parson; paternal grandmother, Helen Taylor of New Castle; maternal grandmother, Joanne Porterfield of New Castle; two great-grandmothers; and several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Anthony Nero, and maternal grandfather, Robert Porterfield.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00pm at the funeral home, officiated by Reverend Dennis Bupp.

Interment will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
