Obituary for Florence D. Olshavsky

Florence D. Olshavsky, 95, of Pulaski Township, passed away the afternoon of February 4, 2017 at her residence. Born on December 30, 1921 in Volant, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Hlopko Hardisky. On July 25, 1941, she married her beloved husband, George Olshavsky, and the two spent 42 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in 1983.

Florence retired as a LPN for Sharon Regional Hospital. She was a member of St. James the Apostle Church.

Florence is survived by her children, Patricia Prejsnar and husband Stanley of New Castle, Sister Denise (Elaine) Olshausky, OSF, of Barberton, South Africa, and Gregg Olshavsky and wife Diane of Wenatchee, WA; brothers, James Hardisky of Edinburg, PA and John Hardisky of Grove City, PA; sister, Loretta Yasher of New Bedford, PA; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, four sisters, and eight brothers.

Honoring her wishes, there are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Thursday at 11:00am at St. James the Apostle Church, officiated by Father James Downs.

Interment will take place in St. James Cemetery.
