Obituary for Joseph Oliva
Joseph Oliva, 52, of New Castle, passed away on January 19, 2016 at his residence. Born on June 4, 1963 in New Castle, he was the son of Carmela Antuono Oliva of New Castle and Alfredo Oliva of Italy.
Joseph had worked as a car detailer for Nick's Auto Body and in the maintenance department for the Lawrence County Housing Authority. He was a member of St. Vitus Church. Joseph enjoyed music and gardening, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph Oliva, Giovanna Oliva, and Gian Carlo Oliva, all of New Castle; wife, Susan Vega Oliva of New Castle; brother, Anthony Oliva of New Castle; sisters, Anna Moore of Beaver, PA, Geraldine Oliva of New Castle, and Almerinda Feola of New Castle; and companion, Phyllis DuBois of New Castle. He was preceded in death by his brother, Carmen Oliva.
Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Services will be conducted Friday at 12:00pm at the funeral home, officiated by Father William Siple of St. Vitus Church.
