Mona L.  Nero (Thomas)
Mona L. Nero, 85, of 449 Falls Avenue passed away the morning of October 2, 2010 in the Haven Convalescent Home.

She was born December 14, 1924 in New Castle, PA and was the daughter of the late Brinley and Mildred Anderson Thomas. She married Rudolph D. Nero, Sr. October 3, 1942. He preceded her in death July 15, 2003.

Mrs. Nero retired in 1986 from the Human Services Center where she worked in Environmental Services.

Mona sang with the Sweet Adelines Barbershop Quartet and she loved to cook. Spending time with her family was what she enjoyed the most.

Mona is survived by a daughter; Mildred Conrad Redmond of New Castle, PA, three sons; Rudolph Nero, Jr. and wife Sharyn of Downingtown, PA, Richard Nero and fiance Melissa Cooper of Chicago, IL and James Nero and wife Michelle of Grove City, PA, a sister; Martha Rucker of Encino, CA, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter; Mary Nero.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3000 Wilmington Road.

A mass of christian burial will be held Tuesday at 2:30 PM at St. Joseph the Worker Church. A procession will leave the funeral home at 2:00 PM for church. Reverend Father Steve Palsa will officiate.

Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoleum.
