Marie J. Navarra, 86, of 1505 State Street passed away the evening of March 31, 2010 in Edison Manor.

She was born February 9, 1924 in New Castle, PA and was the daughter of the late Aurelio and Margaret Rotunno Mastren. She married Michael Navarra on November 30, 1946. He preceded her in death March 12, 2005.

Mrs. Navarra was a phenomenal homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a wonderful grandmother.

She was a member of St. Vitus Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Vitus Ladies Guild and Friendship Street Originals.

Marie is survived by three daughters; Pamela Lemmon and husband Wayne, Rosemary Lemmon and husband Kevin and Peggy Navarra-Barr and husband Ted all of New Castle, PA, one son; David Navarra and wife Monica of Salem, OH, one sister; Edridge Cifra of New Castle, PA, five grandchildren; Ian Lemmon, Amy Lemmon, Gina Lemmon, Bobby Lemmon and Stephen Navarra and one great grandchild; Phoebe Lemmon.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter; Marcia Navarra and a brother; Henry Mastren.

Visitation will be Saturday from 4-7 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill Street.

A mass of christian burial will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Vitus Church. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM for church. Reverend Father Sean Francis will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery.
