Obituary for Daniel Kalajainen

Daniel Kalajainen, 65, of Holmes Beach, FL, formerly of New Castle, PA, died Thursday September 29, 2016. He was born in New Castle, PA, son of Richard and Nancy (Smith) Kalajainen on September 7, 1951. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 43 wonderful years, Jeanine (Gibson) Kalajainen.

He was a 1969 graduate of Shenango High School. Mr. Kalajainen was the manager of Tracker Boating Center in Bradenton, FL, owner and operator of Boat Florida, Holmes Beach, FL and the former owner and operator of Kalajainen’s Sports City, New Castle, PA. He enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing and most of all, time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: Aaron Kalajainen of Clearwater, FL, Jessica and husband, Bobby Rainey of Franklin, TN, and Steven Kalajainen of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren: Chloe Rainey, Lillie Rainey, and Kallie Rainey of Franklin, TN and Rowan Crisci of Indian Rocks Beach, FL; parents, Richard and Nancy Kalajainen; and brothers, Tim and wife Diane Kalajainen of New Castle and Paul Kalajainen and wife Anne.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 5, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday at 6:00pm at the funeral home, officiated by the Reverend Dr. Scott M. Gibson.

Interment will be at Castleview Memorial Gardens.
