Diane M.  DeCarbo
Diane M. DeCarbo, 59, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of March 2, 2016 at her residence. Diane was born on August 30, 1956, the daughter of the late Ralph Houston and Lucy Ann (DiThomas) Houston, and was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Houston.

She was married to her husband, Ricky, on May 23, 1981, and they remained the love of each other's lives. She will always be his muse, his angel, the other half of his heartbeat, and his dearest love.

Diane served as the Director of the Butler County Community College at Lawrence Crossing where she touched many lives and devoted her professional time in furthering the education of the people of our community. She received numerous awards and praise from her peers for her extraordinary talents and contributions. Among them were the Certificate of Professional Development and the Outstanding Service and Community Achievement Awards in 2006 and 2009. Diane's affiliations in Lawrence County included Adult Literacy, Career, and Technical Center Advisory Board, CareerLink, Chamber of Commerce, Council of Community Services, Economic Development, Industrial Training, School to Work, Tourism, United Way, Employer Advisory Council, West Central Job Partnership, Lawrence County Leadership, and the State Regional Correction Facility Mercer Vocational Advisory Council.

Diane loved the ocean, the arts, and exploring history while traveling to many of her favorite destinations. She appreciated good food, wine, and the company of others. Her smile was beautiful and engaging, and her personality was a gift to anyone who met her. She was a shining star that will always be missed and should never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A procession will leave the funeral home Monday at 9:15am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Vitus Church.

Interment will take place in St. Lucy Cemetery.
