Obituary for Anthony F. "Peewee" Naples Sr.

Anthony F. "Peewee"  Naples Sr.
Anthony F. (Peewee) Naples, Sr., 93, of New Castle passed away the morning of July 8, 2014 at Jameson Hospital.

Born on May 14, 1921 in Rose Point, Pa., Anthony was the son of the late Andrew and Ann Mozzarella Naples. He married his loving and devoted wife, the former Vera Germani on June 20, 1946 and recently celebrated sixty eight years of marriage.

He was a WWII U. S. Navy veteran. Anthony was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 in Youngstown, Ohio and retired from Lear Construction where he had worked as a crane operator. Prior to that, he had worked for thirty five years for T. Bruce Campbell Construction Company in West Middlesex.

He was a member of St. Vitus Church. He was also a member of the Duca Degli Abruzzi Club, enjoyed gardening and was an avid sportsman.

In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by his two children, Anthony F. (Butch) Naples, Jr. of Jamestown, Pa; Andrea Householder and husband Dave of Ellwood City; three sisters, Dora Naples of AZ; Gerri Ann Allay of Cleveland; Viola Sferra of Slippery Rock and two grandchildren, Melanie McIntyre Scott and husband Brian and Emily McIntyre.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Frank, Sam and Arnold Naples and his two sisters, Caroline Stewart and Sister Andrea Naples.

Visitation is Thursday from 4PM to 7PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St.

A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11AM. Burial will take place at Parkside Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites at the cemetery.
