Obituary for Paul F. Kuhn

Lifelong Edinburg resident, Paul F. Kuhn, 84, was called home to eternal rest on November 20, 2013 at 2:25 AM after a long illness. Paul was surrounded by his loving family during his passing.

Paul was born April 23, 1929 in Edinburg, the son of the late George V. and Ethel (Leeper) Kuhn. On August 13, 1955 he married his wife, the former Virginia (Genie) Pfahles who preceded him in death on December 2, 2011.

Paul was raised on the family farm; learning about working from an early age. He would deliver eggs and milk to customers in a horse drawn wagon to New Castle, take care of the family livestock, and till and plant the fields. Paul was always helpful and a worker. He would always say "do you need some help" even through his sickness. He was also best known for the wonderful hugs he would give.

He was a United States Army veteran. He retired after 45 years as a millwright working for local union #1871. Mr. Kuhn was a member of St. James the Apostle Church and an active member of the St. James Mens group.

Paul is survived by two daughters, Maureen Kuhn of Edinburg and Brenda Trombitas of Edinburg; two sons, Roger Kuhn of New Wilmington and Brian Kuhn of Edinburg; stepbrother, Joseph Campbell and wife Beverly of Ohio; sister-in-law, Rhea Belle Kuhn of New Castle and two grandchildren, Ann Kuhn and Garrett Kuhn.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marian L. Spellick and Emma Grace Kuhn and one brother, Franklin L. Kuhn.

Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3000 Wilmington Road, New Castle. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites on Saturday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Saturday for a mass of christian burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. James the Apostle Church. Father James Downs will officiate. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery.
