Lucy P. Nard, 94, of New Castle passed away the morning of November 9, 2013 at Jameson Hospital. Born in Brent, Pa. on March 31, 1919, Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, Nick Rico and Rose Bucci Rico. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Albert Rico. She is survived by her husband, Michael Nard, whom she married on June 14, 1941.

Lucy was a member of St. Vitus Church. She was the owner and operator of Lou's Beauty Shop for over twenty five years. She enjoyed needlework and reading. Lucy was also known as a wonderful cook and baker. Above all, Lucy cherished the times she spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband, her children, Bonnie Nard of New Castle; John Nard and his wife LeeAnne of New Castle; her brother, Sam Rico, Sr. of New Castle; her sister, Ann Johns of Grove City; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to her parents and step father, Lucy is preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Rico and Tony Rico, and four sisters, Maria Rossi, Elizabeth Houston Smith, Nellie Iatonna and Jennie Grego.

There were no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Vitus Church officiated by Father Nicholas Vaskov.

Interment is at St. Vitus Cemetery.
