Carole L. Borio Burkes, 63, of W. Washington St. passed away the evening of July 26, 2013 at Silver Oaks Nursing Center.

Born on September 27, 1949 in New Castle, Carole was the daughter of the late William (Bill) and Naomi Foster Borio.

She had previously worked as a LPN at Highland Hall Nursing Home and Jameson Memorial Hospital. Carole enjoyed reading and loved her dog. She was known as being a good hearted person who cherished the times she spent with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Gina Burkes and Rick Burkes, both of New Castle and six grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Callahan and her grandson, Karl Harris.

Memorial services will be private.

Burial will take place at Parkside Cemetery & Mausoleum.
