Obituary for Daisy Nixon

Daisy  Nixon
Daisy Nixon, 94, of 21 S. Greenwood Ave. passed away the morning of December 22, 2012 at Jameson Hospital. Born in Griffin, Georgia on August 8, 1918, Daisy was the daughter of the late William and Estelle Pryor. Surviving is her husband, Eddie Nixon who she married on May 15, 1941.

Daisy was the last original and oldest living charter member of the Ebenezer Church of God. She was the mother of the church, a member of the choir and was formerly on the building fund committee. She enjoyed reading, drawing, gospel music and in earlier years was part of a sewing circle. Daisy will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, Daisy is survived by her children, Audrey Foster and her husband Willie, Annie Nixon, Leslie Hollins and her husband Sam, Marlene Nixon, Michelle Krumm and her husband Greg, all of New Castle; Ernestine Morgan of Youngstown, Oh; Darrell Nixon of New Castle; Michael Nixon and his fiance Tina of Washington, Pa; her nephew, John Treadwell of Phoenix, Az; twenty grandchildren, twenty five great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Edward Nixon, Albert Nixon, Lionel Nixon, three daughters, Joan Nixon, Elizabeth Prioleau, Beverly Nixon Perkins, a daughter-in-law, LaChelle Nixon and three sisters, Betsy Mayes, Annabelle Peak, Mattie Pryor and three brothers, William Pryor, Raymond Pryor and James Pryor.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 11AM to 1PM at the Ebenezer Church of God 1119 South Jefferson Street. A Homegoing Service will be held at 1PM at the church officiated by Elder Eric Brooks.

Burial will take place at Parkside Cemetery.
