Robert S. Kordish, 65, of Morris St. passed away the evening of October 6, 2012 at his residence.

Born in Cambria County, Pa. on October 17, 1946, Robert is the son of the late John and Ruth Shaffer Kordish. Preceding him in death on January 11, 2009 is his wife, the former Mary Jane Mielke whom he married in 1968.

Robert had worked for Jefferson Poultry and prior to that he had worked at Shenango Pottery. In earlier years he worked for the Book Binding Company in Toledo. He was a avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and cherished the times he spent with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Elmer Hill and his wife Carla, John Kordish and his wife Kathy, Steve Kordish and his wife Debbie, Dave Kordish and wife Angela, Jim Kordish and wife Carol, George Kordish and wife Tammy, all of New Castle; his brothers, James Kordish, Dave Kordish, Charles Kordish, Gary Cook and Jeff Cook, all of New Castle; his sisters, Donna Nero, Janice Cook, Carolyn Cook, Tammy Pauline, all of New Castle; eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Robert is preceded in death by three brothers, John, George and Ron Kordish and his stepfather, Charles Cook.

Visitation is Tuesday from 11AM to 1PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill ST.

A service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1PM. Rev. Dennis Bupp will officiate. Burial will take place at Oak Park Cemetery.

The family asks in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
