Anthony Joseph Ross, 47, of New Castle passed away at his residence on August 13, 2012.

He was born October 25, 1964 in New Castle and was the son of the late George and Mary Librizzi Ross. He had been a car salesman at various local dealerships throughout the years.

Anthony enjoyed sports including the Pittsburgh Steelers and especially loved baseball. He was a longtime baseball and softball umpire and current member of the Amateur Softball Association in Pennsylvania. He was a past member of the PIAA Baseball Umpires Association and the North County Baseball Umpires Association. His greatest love was his family and the time he spent with them.

Anthony is survived by one daughter, ToniLynn Ross of New Castle; one stepdaughter, Erin Christy of New Castle; one stepson, Matthew Christy and wife Marnie of New Castle; three brothers, John Ross and wife Sarah of Ridge Manor, FL, George Ross and wife Mitzi of Austin, TX and Carl Ross and wife Denise of Cranberry Township; one sister, Barbara Querriera and husband Richard of Cranberry Township; one grandson, Santino; one stepgrandson, Freddie and his former wife, Rosemary Ross of New Castle.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill Street.

A mass of christian burial will be celebrated by Father William Siple on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Church. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM for church. Interment will be in Parkside Cemetery.
