Harry Darrell Pitzer, Jr., 85, of Old Princeton Rd. passed away the afternoon of August 8, 2012 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler, Pa.

Harry was born in New Castle on January 23, 1927, a son of the late Harry Darrell, Sr. and Irene Cluse Pitzer. He married the former Charlotte Marketich on July 3, 1951. She survives.

Harry was a devoted member of the New Castle Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He retired as an agent operator of the CSX Railroad. He was a avid golfer and loved being with people. Harry was known as a loving husband and father and cherished the times he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by his son, Tim Pitzer of New Castle; his daughter, Rene Yeropoli and husband Rocky of New Castle; his sister, Marlene Davis and husband Richard of New Castle and his brother, Keith Pitzer and wife Elaine of Clearwater, FL.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Gayle Pitzer, Clayton Pitzer, Charles Pitzer and his sister, Naomi Magee.

There are no calling hours. Condolences may be sent and friends can be received at his daughter Rene's residence at 1318 Barbour Place New Castle, Pa. 16101.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the New Castle Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
