Obituary for Norman N. Naplen Sr.

Norman N.  Naplen Sr.
Norman N. Naplen, Sr., 71, of Boyers Road, Boyers, PA; formerly of New Castle passed away the evening of November 17, 2011 in Jameson Hospital.

He was born October 29, 1940 in New Castle and was the son of the late Ninsi and Rose Donofrio Naplen. He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy O'Shea whom he married February 16, 1963.

Mr. Naplen was the owner and operator of Castle Rents, Inc. in New Castle, PA for forty years. In later years he worked for George Junior Republic as a campus driver. He was a United States Navy veteran and served during the Bay of Pigs Invasion. He was a member of the Epiphany Catholic Church. Norman enjoyed playing bocce, visiting the Outer Banks, NC and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Joanne Delaney and husband Kevin of New Castle and Kimberly Lowe and husband Robert of Darlington, PA; two sons, Robert Naplen and Norman Naplen, Jr. both of New Castle; two brothers, Danny Gay of Atlanta, GA and Stan Naplen of Asheville, NC; two sisters, Marlene Springer of Florida and Roseanne Lewis of Texas; his step-mother, Helen Naplen of Texas and five grandchildren, Andrea Naplen, Kyle Delaney, Dustin Lowe, Rusty Lowe and Olivia Lowe.

Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill Street, New Castle.

A mass of christian burial will be celebrated by Father Frank Almade on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. Vitus Church, New Castle. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM for church. Entombment will be in Parkside Cemetery Mausoleum, New Castle.
